Experience the hunting adventure of a lifetime amid the breathtaking ranchlands, foothills, and alpine terrain of New Zealand's South Island.

Located in the Canterbury region approximately one hour from Christchurch, High Peak Station offers thousands of acres of prime hunting country and opportunities to pursue Red Stag, Himalayan Tahr, Alpine Chamois, Fallow Stag, Captain Cook Wild Boar, and other big-game species with experienced Kiwi guides.

After each day in the field, return to the upscale lodge for cocktails, local wine and beer, gourmet meals inspired by New Zealand cuisine, and comfortable accommodations designed for relaxation and sharing stories from the hunt.

A Typical Day
Begin with a full breakfast before heading into the field with your Kiwi guide. Return to the lodge for a leisurely lunch and midday rest, followed by another afternoon hunt. Evenings feature cocktails, appetizers, local wines, and a gourmet dinner showcasing venison, beef, chicken, seasonal vegetables, and New Zealand-inspired desserts.

Best Hunting Seasons
  • Red Stag: Mid-February through late July 
  • Tahr and Chamois: May through June 
Important Terms and Additional Costs
This package is valid for two hunters. Additional hunters may be added, subject to outfitter availability and the applicable deposit and trophy-fee requirements.

For February, May, June, and July hunts:
  •  $3,500 nonrefundable deposit per hunter 
  •  Additional $1,500 deposit per hunter due August 1 before the hunt 
  •  Both deposits are credited toward trophy fees 
  •  $7,500 minimum trophy-fee spend per hunter 
For March and April rut-season hunts:
  •  $5,000 nonrefundable deposit per hunter 
  •  $10,000 minimum trophy-fee spend per hunter 

Each hunter must harvest at least one Red Stag scoring SCI 375 or higher, or an equivalent trophy-fee value in another eligible species. International airfare, trophy fees, taxidermy, export services, rifle permits, gratuities, insurance, and accommodations before or after the hunt are not included. Reservations are subject to availability, and travel must be completed within the certificate's validity period. 

Beyond the Hunt

High Peak Station offers far more than an exceptional hunting experience. Guests and non-hunting are welcome and companions can customize their New Zealand adventure with a wide range of optional activities available on-site and throughout the Canterbury region. Activities include scenic walks, trout fishing, 4WD tours, electric moto tours, wildlife photography, watercolor painting, championship golf, fly fishing, horseback riding, hot air ballooning, jet boating, wine tours, whale watching, dolphin encounters, the world-famous TranzAlpine train, heli-hiking, heli-glacier tours, and even heli-skiing during the winter season.
